Referee Resources

Arizona Futsal Association

Arizona’s only sanctioned futsal league, the league runs for seven weeks plus playoffs, then starts again; each session has its own championship. The Arizona Futsal Association plays games Saturday or Sunday.  Saturday games may start as early as 8AM and Sunday games usually do not start before 9AM.

Referees

Futsal’s referee positioning system works on a simple principle. The referee forms a diagonal with both generally positioned with the second last defender of both teams. Not for the purpose of offside but rather to keep the referee team’s court coverage on play and the majority of players.

Referee Authority

Each match is controlled by two referees, the referee and the second referee, who have full authority to enforce the Futsal Laws of the Game in connection with the match to which they have been appointed.

Referee Course

The Arizona Futsal Association Futsal Referees Course is designed for anyone aged 14 and over who wants to join the fast-paced sport of Futsal. Futsal has a pathway from the local sports hall through to refereeing on the international stage.
